NFL Thanksgiving Games 2016

The NFL Thanksgiving Games 2016 schedule is officially here! It is going to be a triple header and sure to have playoff implications for all teams. The opening game is Minnesota visiting Detroit at 12:30 ET. This divisional match-up will be quite interesting because the Lions will be without star wide receiver Calvin Johnson. But don’t lose hope! They ended the season very strong last year, almost making it into the playoffs so they surely will be looking for a playoff spot this season. And because the Vikings are the NFC North champions, they will be in the hunt for some lion meat! Matthew Stafford has retooled his offense so it remains to be seen where that will take them. As always, Adrian Peterson is sure to put up some impressive numbers to keep things interesting.

NFL Thanksgiving Games

The NFL Thanksgiving games 2016 would not be complete without an NFC East rivalry game. The 4:30 ET game is between the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys. This nFC East match-up between the two divisional enemies will surely be especially fun to watch. Kirk Cousins is the new starting quarterback for the Washington after they moved on from Robert Griffin III. A healthy Romo will likely make the difference because a win and a loss, or at least be a contributing factor.

By thanksgiving, these two teams will have already played in week two, so each team will be able to size up the players and the plays to predict what’s coming on Thanksgiving. Former Redskins running back Alfred Morris who is now with the Cowboys will be one to watch. Seeing a former player play against his old team is always fun!

The final game is Pittsburgh Steelers against the Indianapolis Colts at 8:30. Andrew Luck has not been so lucky against Big Ben! The steelers have thumped the Colts the last two times they met. The throwing ability of Andrew will have to be at its finest. The Pittsburgh offense is so dynamic they are hard to play against.

The Colts defense ranked 25th in points and 26th in yards last year so they have a tough task in front of their fans. The Steelers ranked third and fourth in yards and points and will likely be a force to be reckoned with again this year. This game should be highly entertaining with or without playoff implications. This is not a divisional match-up but after filling up on turkey and mashed potatoes, it will be a great way to round out the day!
